The Halifax County Virginia Heritage & Antique Machinery Festival was established in 2004 by a group of interested citizens to help  preserve the heritage of our county. At the present time this event is being held the 1st weekend in May of each year at the Halifax County Fairgrounds.  This year the festival will begin on Friday April 30th and Run through May 2, 2010. Plans are underway to have a permanent  home for the festival. Improvements have been made at the old Halifax County Fair Grounds with camping sites with hookups, additional  fencing installed, horse show ring, exhibit hall displays and tractor pull guard rails just to name a few. Contributions to the community through scholarships, equipment donation to the local school system and visits to the local nursing homes have been made over the past few years. Vendors are welcome by filling out application online or mailing one to the festival  contacts., but no food vendors will be allowed.

 Festival Events

  • Vintage Car, Truck and Motorcycle Cruz-in

  • Equipment, Tools and heritage displays and demonstrations

  • Vendor flea-markets, plants, flowers and goodies

  • Drag Strip type Burnout on Saturday Night

  • Quarter Scale and Full Scale Tractor Pull, hit and miss engines, ole well drilling rig, wood shingle making

  • Plenty of Food, bologna burgers, hotdogs, BBQ, Fish, ice-cream and Stew just to name a few by  local civic clubs and Fire Departments

  • Wood Carving Demonstration, Bee Keeping, Apple Cider Making, Corn grinding, apple squeezing, two man power saw demonstration

  • Country, Bluegrass and Gospel Music

  • Children's play ground- Petting Zoo

  • Ride around on our sponsored people haulers and site see

  • Daily tractor and machinery parade

 

Camping sites available on grounds  24 hour security, fenced  facility locked at 10:00pm

Local singing groups will be on hand to perform some of the best music

Southside Va. Horse Council invites you to bring your horses, mules, donkeys, mini's to the Halifax County Heritage and Antique Machinery Festival

Burnouts on Friday and Saturday Evening

Come out and show-em what you got. See who can make the most smoke the longest

Tinkers Car Club Cruiz-in

Come out and see some the nices antique and vintage vehciles around. A drawing every 30 minutes for 50.00 for all who displays a vechicle
